A little about ourselves
Warner Robins High School (WRHS) originally opened in 1944, and is today one of five high schools in the Houston County School System. The Houston County School System is District Accredited by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission, the national commission that confers the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement accreditation seal. This means that the system and all 38 schools are accredited, and that Houston County is recognized across the nation as a quality school system.
Houston County is home to Robins Air Force Base (RAFB), Georgia's largest single industry with 18,158 civilian employees. Warner Robins High School’s proximity to Robins Air Force Base inspired our school’s mascot, “the Demon.” The Demon mascot, which is not religious in nature, was originally adopted in honor of the 7th fighter squadron at Robins Air Force Base which earned its title "The Screamin' Demons" in the South Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Steve Monday is the principal. The school serves over 1500 students in grades 9-12, and we are located at 401 South Davis Drive. Our mission at Warner Robins High School is to prepare all students for success as they become contributing members of society. Our core values encompass providing a safe, positive, and cooperative learning environment, inspiring students to reach ambitious but obtainable goals, encouraging students to take responsibility for their own education, actions, and decisions, and promoting character development. We have implemented and improved a number of programs that embody these values and facilitate this mission.
Warner Robins was named a Distinguished Title I school from 2009-2011 and has made AYP for four consecutive years from 2009 – 2012. We offer the highest number of AP classes in our county. Additionally, students at Warner Robins High are provided with many opportunities to participate in Career, Technical and Agricultural Education programs and activities through a variety of program area offerings. In our Business and Computer Science department, we offer the following pathways: Business & Technology, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources Management, and Web & Digital Design.
The system is to be commended for its dedicated and highly qualified CTAE instructors, five of whom serve in state leadership roles. Additionally, Houston County provides numerous CTAE course opportunities at the middle school level which align with the high school programs.
